Jemez Pueblo Indians are famous for their Beautiful red clay pottery. The clay is dug from secret grounds around the Pueblo. This was made by, “Delia Gachupin” and signed on the bottom. We purchased this directly from Delia. Delia Gachupin was born in 1965 and has been making pottery since 1975. She specializes in redware bowls, vases and ornaments. She uses acrylic paints and fires her pottery in a kiln. She gathers her materials from the Reservation and hand coils all of her pots. She was taught by her grandmother Louisa Toledo. Her mother is Bernice Gachupin and her father is Steven Gachupin. She is the sister of Bertilla Toya and Kathleen Lucero. She shows at the Santo Domingo Arts & Crafts Show and Santa Clara Feast day.
